About Us

Serving Customers’ Needs for 30 years.

History

Established in 1992, Quality Carbide Grind Inc. (QCG) began as a manufacturer of custom and industry standard carbide inserts for the automotive and aerospace industries. Southern Ontario's growth in the tool, mold and die industry provided QCG with the opportunity to also supply and distribute a wide range of carbide cutting tools. Success led to the gradual representation of multiple cutting tool lines and mold/die component brands.

In 2003, QCG expanded operations with the purchase of our first Walter 5-axis CNC Cutter Grinder, enabling us to manufacture our own line of high velocity and standard endmills. In addition, a complete regrind service was introduced to help customers cut tooling costs and reduce waste. By 2005, two Walter CNCs were operating. The addition of a brand new Walter Helitronic Power later enhanced our services.

In 2010, QCG expanded into the GTA and Central Ontario with the acquisition of Mid-West Services Inc. This acquisition brought access to additional product lines and new customer contacts expanding the company's distribution arm.

Today, QCG operates four, 5-axis CNC cutter grinders and maintains access to excellent product lines. Our 3-Axis United Grinding HeliChek assists in Quality Control while our in-house operated Ebbco filtration/chiller unit assures consistency.

The QCG team is committed to investigating the best products and most efficient manufacturing capabilities to exceed our customers' expectations and continue to be a 'one-stop supplier' for every cutting tool need.
